About the role
We are looking for a safety-focused Fitter - Asset to join our East Coast Metals Maintenance Team at Cannington Mine, Queensland.
Reporting to the Site Supervisor, you will provide maintenance and technical support across mobile and fixed plant equipment. We welcome applicants from a wide range of industries and backgrounds who can demonstrate strong mechanical problem-solving skills, a commitment to safety, and a willingness to learn.

What you will be doing
- Maintain, service, and repair mobile and fixed plant equipment.
- Diagnose faults and deliver practical maintenance solutions.
- Support scheduled maintenance and breakdown response activities.
- Provide technical advice and support to site teams.
- Monitor equipment performance and identify improvement opportunities.
- Conduct equipment inspections and maintenance audits.
- Manage critical spare parts and maintenance records.
- Use digital maintenance and asset management systems.
- Collaborate with maintenance teams across Orica operations.
What you will bring

- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills;
- Experience maintaining, repairing, or servicing mechanical equipment;
- A proactive approach to safety and continuous improvement;
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team;
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills;
- Confidence using digital systems and maintenance software;
- A trade qualification in a mechanical discipline or equivalent practical experience;
- An HR Driver's Licence is advantageous but not essential.
