About the role

As a Technician – Mechanical, you will be part of the site maintenance team, responsible for safely maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical equipment, plant, and facilities.Your work is critical to keeping the site running safely and reliably by ensuring equipment availability, reducing unplanned downtime, and supporting consistent, high‑quality production.This role is suited to hands‑on mechanical technicians who enjoy problem‑solving, preventative maintenance, and working as part of a collaborative site team.

What you will be doing

• Follow all safety, health, and environmental procedures and work in line with site standards, permits, and safe work instructions
• Identify, report, and respond appropriately to hazards, incidents, and near misses
• Carry out routine, planned, and breakdown mechanical maintenance on plant, equipment, and site services
• Diagnose mechanical faults and perform effective repairs using tools, drawings, manuals, and standard procedures
• Support preventative and corrective maintenance to improve equipment reliability and plant uptime
• Respond promptly to breakdowns and maintenance requests to minimise downtime
• Record completed work, maintenance history, and observations accurately in maintenance systems
• Work collaboratively with technicians, supervisors, and contractors to complete work safely and efficiently
• Support shutdowns, projects, and maintenance campaigns as required
• Share knowledge, assist others, and contribute ideas to improve safety, reliability, and maintenance practices 

What you will bring

• Practical mechanical maintenance and repair skills in an industrial or manufacturing environmentAbility to identify mechanical faults and carry out effective troubleshooting
• Capability to work safely with tools, rotating equipment, and plant machinery
• Ability to follow procedures, drawings, and work instructions
• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Maintenance, or a related field
• Relevant trade, technical, or vocational certification is acceptable
• Experience working as a Mechanical Technician or in a similar hands‑on maintenance role
• Experience in manufacturing, mining, chemicals, explosives, or heavy industrial environments is an advantage
