About the role

The Strategy and Planning Manager is responsible for driving and supporting strategic projects in Asia, maintaining competitor and market insights and developing long term demand and market outlook models. The role can be based in Indonesia (Jakarta), India (Hyderabad) or Philippines (Ortigas) or China (Beijing).

What you will be doing

  • Gathering, interpreting, refining and communicating relevant market and competitor insights including understanding the relationships between this insight and our internal 'bottom up' view
  • Develops the strategic issues, challenges and new strategic opportunities of potential value to Orica Asia
  • Develops the strategic and operational planning framework in the short, medium and long term with a strong focus on business growth
  • Develop presentations, financial models and board papers to present strategic logic and recommended pathways for major initiatives
  • Accountable for maintaining and updating the Asia long term Commodity, Ammonium Nitrate and Initiation Systems demand models
  • Managing efficient and timely strategy and 3 year planning processes including activities such as war games.
  • Takes ownership for driving global priorities and resolves issues where these conflict in region
  • Regional implementation of global commercial initiatives
  • Contract approvals

What you will bring

  •  Relevant tertiary qualification in business, economics, finance or equivalent
  • 7+ years post qualification experience working with large, global businesses with complex / diverse portfolios and operations
  • Experience in management consulting, Big 4 or corporate strategy team within a large global multinational business
  • Proven conceptual, analytical and quantitative skills
  • Advanced MS Excel based financial modelling capabilities
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with senior internal stakeholders
  • Strong strategic and commercial acumen supported by sound commercial judgement
  • Ability to orchestrate, project manage, and drive complex strategy projects
