About the role - Warehouse Coordinator (Winnemucca, NV)
We’re excited to announce an opportunity at Orica for a Warehouse Coordinator to join our Supply Chain team at our Winnemucca, Nevada site.
This position supports Orica's Specialty Mining Chemicals business, a leading supplier of sodium cyanide and other chemical solutions essential to the mining industry.
The Warehouse Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring the availability of supplies, materials, and spare parts needed to support safe and efficient plant operations. Acting as a key link between Procurement, Maintenance, and Operations, you will oversee inventory management activities, including receiving, storing, issuing, and tracking materials. Your efforts will help ensure the right parts are available at the right time, minimizing downtime and supporting operational reliability.
This role requires strong organizational skills, inventory management expertise, and a proactive approach to maintaining accurate stock levels and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
What you will be doing
- Review, validate, and create new stock items in the warehouse management system, ensuring required approvals, accurate item data, and elimination of duplicate or redundant inventory.
- Perform routine cycle counts and inventory audits to maintain inventory accuracy and data integrity in the warehouse system.
- Analyze inventory levels to identify obsolete or excess materials, reduce redundancy, and optimize working capital.
- Monitor and maintain inventory replenishment parameters, including minimum and maximum stock levels.
- Develop and coordinate warehouse staging activities in support of planned maintenance and warehouse personnel for scheduled maintenance and turnaround.
- Support warehouse operations by assisting with material receiving, storage, and picking of all materials.
- Responsible for expediting warehouse material to avoid or prevent disruptions within our material flow of product to our production facilities.
- Maintain accurate inventory records to support order fulfillment, on-time receipts, inventory control, shrinkage reduction and order picking.
- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture through consistent adherence to company safety policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of warehouse and site operations.
What you will bring
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in warehouse operations, inventory control, materials management, or supply chain within a manufacturing, chemical, mining, or industrial environment.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate effectively across departments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong computer skills and the ability to quickly learn and effectively utilize warehouse, inventory management, and business systems.
- Experience maintaining inventory accuracy, creating and managing stock items, and ensuring data integrity within ERP, M3, SAP, or warehouse management systems is preferred.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy, inventory control, and process compliance.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and adherence to company policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid Nevada Driver's License required.
- Ability to successfully pass a background check and drug screening.
Physical Requirements
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather and environmental conditions, including heat, cold, wind, and precipitation.
- Capable of lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling materials weighing up to 50 pounds and performing other physical tasks required to support warehouse operations.
- Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, reach, climb stairs, and perform repetitive movements throughout the workday.
- Qualified to safely wear and operate required personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators and emergency response equipment.
- Committed to working safely in an industrial manufacturing environment while adhering to all safety policies and procedures.
Role dimensions
- Standard work schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with flexibility to support operational and business needs as required, including maintenance outages, turnaround activities, and other critical site events throughout the year.
- Collaborate effectively with Maintenance, Operations, Procurement, and Supply Chain teams to support site objectives and ensure material availability.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships across departments while fostering a safe, productive, and team-oriented work environment.
