About the role
We are seeking a strategic and analytically driven Strategy Lead to join our EMEA team. This role is based in Weybridge (UK), with flexibility to consider candidates located in other regional offices, like Lisbon (Portugal), Johannesburg (South Africa), or Gyttorp (Sweden).
The Strategy Lead plays a critical part in supporting the development and execution of Orica’s regional strategy, directly contributing to EMEA’s growth agenda and strategic outcomes. The role enables strategic decision-making through the development of analytical models, marketing intelligence tools, pricing, and commercial frameworks. It partners closely with commercial and marketing leaders across the region to translate strategy into actionable plans and measurable results.
What you will be doing
As the Strategy Lead, you will be responsible for:
• Developing and maintaining strategic artefacts that visualise the EMEA market landscape and Orica’s competitive positioning
• Leading and supporting strategic projects that guide decisions on market entry, operating models, and country exits
• Designing and managing repeatable contractual pricing frameworks and models to standardise commercial practices across the region
• Enhancing models that inform commodity, customer, and market demand insights
• Supporting the Senior Manager, Strategy, Planning & Communications in shaping the regional business strategy aligned with Orica’s global five-year planning process
What you will bring
• Tertiary qualifications in commerce, business, marketing, finance, engineering, or a related technical field
• Demonstrated experience in strategy, analytics, or management consulting (in-house or external)
• Advanced modelling and analytical skills with a proven ability to build high-quality, logic-driven models
• Strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with Power BI and SAP solutions is a plus.
• Experience in cross-functional project management and the ability to manage competing priorities independently
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence across diverse contexts and cultures
• Strong commercial acumen and sound judgment
• Ability to build trusted relationships with stakeholders at all levels
