About the role

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Regional Tax Manager to lead Orica’s tax function across the UK, Europe, and Middle East (EME) region. Based in Weybridge, UK, this role is responsible for overseeing tax strategy, planning, compliance, and governance, while managing relationships with internal stakeholders and external authorities.
Reporting directly to the VP – Tax, with a dotted line to the VP – EMEA Finance, the Regional Tax Manager will manage an operating budget of approximately $1 million per annum, oversee a regional income tax expense of around $50 million, and lead a small team of tax professionals. This role is a key member of the Tax Leadership Team, contributing to global strategy while ensuring regional compliance and risk mitigation.

What you will be doing

As the Regional Tax Manager, you will be responsible for:
• Acting as the primary tax contact for business and functional leaders across the EME region
• Developing and implementing regional tax strategies that balance value creation with risk management
• Advising on M&A transactions, including deal structuring, funding strategies, and tax implications of capital flows
• Leading tax planning initiatives in collaboration with the global Tax Leadership Team
• Managing relationships with tax authorities to reduce audit exposure and resolve open matters
• Overseeing outsourced and co-sourced tax compliance services (income tax, VAT, WHT, excise, customs)
• Leading a small team of compliance professionals based in Manila to deliver efficient and compliant tax reporting
• Supporting global transfer pricing policies, documentation, benchmarking, and reporting
• Managing tax audits and ensuring timely resolution
• Ensuring accurate tax risk reporting in financial statements and the tax risk register
• Representing Orica externally with regulators, advisors, and industry bodies

What you will bring

• 12+ years of experience in tax roles within multinational corporations or professional services
• Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Law, with CPA or ACA designation
• Strong expertise in international tax, transfer pricing, and tax accounting
• Proven ability to lead cross-regional tax strategy and compliance
• Experience managing outsourced tax services and leading remote teams
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• High integrity, strong ethics, and a reputation for sound judgment
• Strategic mindset with strong business acumen and analytical capability
• Resilience, adaptability, and a collaborative leadership style
