•    Mentorship – Learn from some of the best minds in the industry;
•    Network – Connect with a global community of engineers and professionals;
•    Global Impact – Work on real-world engineering challenges that make a difference;
•    Permanent Role – Land a full-time position after the program.

Your Role as a Graduate Engineer

Depending on your discipline, you’ll contribute to critical operations and projects that drive innovation and performance across our sites.

Opportunity: Graduate - Electrical Engineer (Kalgoorlie, WA)
As a Graduate - Electrical Engineer at Orica, you’ll gain practical experience working with high- and low-voltage systems, supporting plant maintenance, and contributing to critical shutdowns and upgrades.

What you’ll be doing:
•    Maintain and support plant electrical assets, including HV/LV systems, AC/DC equipment, and switchgear;
•    Diagnose and resolve electrical faults, applying engineering principles to improve reliability;
•    Participate in planned and reactive maintenance, including major plant shutdowns;
•    Work hands-on with electrical infrastructure, gaining exposure to real-world industrial systems and safety practices.

Opportunity: Graduate – Mechatronics / Mechanical Engineer (Perth, WA)
As a Graduate Mechatronics / Mechanical Engineer, where you'll help design, develop, and deploy cutting-edge mechatronic systems used in mining operations across Australia and beyond. This role offers hands-on experience from concept to field deployment, helping shape the future of our engineering solutions.

This is more than just a desk job—you’ll be hands-on from concept to field deployment, working with advanced tools like gyro systems (used for both rig alignment as well as downhole surveys), and core orientation devices that are transforming how the mining industry operates.

What you’ll be doing:
•    Collaborate on the design and development of new mechatronic systems, from concept through to prototype;
•    Conduct experimentation and testing to validate design concepts;
•    Gather and incorporate market and field feedback to refine product designs;
•    Develop and document concept prototypes and technical specifications;
•    Travel to remote mining sites (up to 25-50%) to see your technologies in action, engage with field engineers, and ensure successful deployment.

What you will bring

You’re studying or have recently completed a degree in:
•    Electrical/Electronics, Control Systems Engineering
•    Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering
•    Willingness to travel and work in dynamic field environments

Graduation year: 2024 or 2025
Degree level: Bachelor’s, Postgraduate, or Master’s
