Take the first step into the mining industry as a Trainee Blast Crew/ MMU Operator with Orica—where safety, teamwork, and respect for people, land and communities we work with are at the heart of everything we do.
We have opportunities in our Perth Quarry Services team, based out of Perth, offering a family friendly 5/2 roster option to suit work-life balance.
This is a genuine entry-level opportunity with full training provided—ideal for motivated individuals looking to build a long-term mining career.
What you will be doing
- Work alongside an experienced blasting crew supporting day-to-day operations
- Assist with the safe delivery of explosive products into blast holes
- Magazine management including storage, handling, and stock control of explosives in line with statutory compliance requirements
- Learn to operate a variety of blasting equipment and machinery
- Operating advanced blasting vehicles such as MMU units

What you will bring
- A positive, team-focused attitude and willingness to learn
- Reliability and a strong work ethic in physically demanding environments
- Ability to work in challenging conditions (heat, dust)
- Ability to pass a national police clearance and ability to obtain Dangerous Goods Drivers License.
- Current Heavy Rigid (HR) Driver’s Licence (required)
- Mining or machinery experience will be highly considered, though not required.
