About the role


Our West Metals business continues to grow, and we’re looking to bring on experienced MCU Operators to join our high‑performing blasting team, based out of Perth.

In this role, you’ll operate Mobile Charging Units across underground customer sites, playing a critical part in the safe manufacture, delivery, and charging of explosives. You’ll be supported by a strong safety culture, proven systems, and a team that takes pride in delivering quality outcomes every day.

What you will be doing

 

  • Safe operation of underground Mobile Charge Unit manufacturing and delivery of explosives.
  • Ensures raw materials and dangerous goods are used, handled and stored according to requirements;
  • Ensures minimum damage to the environment through waste minimisation and control Reports all Unusual Incidents and Accidents immediately;
  • Maintains all personal training against the Orica training Matrix for your role;
  • Performs other ancillary duties including relief at other locations, consistent with level of competence as reasonably instructed by the supervisor;
  • Assists the client in achieving targets and maintaining production Performs administration duties relating to stocktaking, product delivery, maintenance quality etc;
  • Meets daily customer loading requirements and delivery quality product and service;
  • Maintains equipment to ensure it is in serviceable condition

What you will bring

  •  
  • A manual Heavy Rigid Vehicle License;
  • Must be able to obtain a Dangerous goods license and security card;
  • Strong commitment to safety;
  • Ability to commit to FIFO / shift work;
  • Proven experience within a mechanical environment or a similar industry preferred;
  • The ability to work autonomously and be part of a high performing team.
