About the role
As the Product Manager - Orebody Intelligence, you will be responsible for the ongoing management and improvement of established Axis Software products, including Axis Connect. Acting as the voice of the customer, you will develop a deep understanding of user needs, challenges, and business objectives to ensure product decisions deliver value for both customers and the organization.
Working closely with engineering, support, field teams, subject matter experts, and business stakeholders, you will translate customer feedback and business priorities into clear product requirements, backlog items, and release plans. You will drive product adoption, support release readiness, resolve product issues, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement. Through strong stakeholder collaboration and a balance of customer-focused and commercial thinking, you will help ensure Axis Software products remain reliable, effective, and aligned with strategic business goals.
What you will be doing
- Execute and maintain the agreed product strategy for Axis Software products, ensuring roadmap, backlog, release, and lifecycle activities align with customer needs, operational reliability, and business objectives.
- Oversee the day-to-day management of Axis Connect, including backlog refinement, issue triage, release planning, documentation, support handovers, continuous improvement initiatives, and product retirement activities where required.
- Enhance customer satisfaction and retention by improving product reliability, usability, onboarding experiences, training materials, communications, and feedback mechanisms.
- Translate customer feedback, support requests, product analytics, field insights, and stakeholder input into clear product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and prioritised backlog items.
- Support successful product releases through release planning, testing coordination, issue tracking, rollout support, stakeholder communication, release documentation, and post-release reviews.
- Partner with engineering, field operations, support teams, sales, regional teams, and subject matter experts to ensure product priorities are clearly defined, aligned, and effectively delivered.
- Monitor product usage, customer adoption, support trends, system performance, release outcomes, and lifecycle risks to provide insights and recommendations for ongoing improvement.
- Engage regularly with customers, product champions, field teams, and internal stakeholders to gather feedback, support product rollouts, deliver training, and identify opportunities to improve product performance and user experience.
What you will bring
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Geoscience, Product Management, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience in software, mining technology, drilling services, field operations, or product delivery.
- 5-7 years of relevant experience in the technology or mining sector, including 2-4 years in product management, business analysis, software delivery, customer success, or SaaS environments.
- Experience supporting existing software products, internal tools, customer-facing digital workflows, field technology deployments, or operational technology products.
- Working knowledge of product management practices, Agile delivery, release management, testing, user acceptance, product analytics, backlog management, and documentation.
- Ability to translate customer feedback, support issues, SME input, product data, and business needs into clear requirements, prioritisation recommendations, and delivery-ready work.
- Sound analytical and problem-structuring skills, with the ability to assess evidence, clarify trade-offs, and escalate decisions where required.
- Strong communication, collaboration, stakeholder coordination, and follow-through across development, commercial, operations, support, and regional teams.
- High accountability, attention to detail, organisation, resilience, and ability to maintain delivery focus in an operational product environment.
- Experience with mining, geoscience, or drilling technologies, along with familiarity with software support systems, analytics tools, and product management platforms, is highly desirable.
