About the role

 

In our blast Design and Execution and Orebody Intelligence (OBI) groups, we design & commercialise cutting-edge technology and systems that are reshaping the Mining and Exploration sectors. We are now looking to add a Specialist – Technology Support to our team. This role will be based in our Perth offices, where the successful candidate ordinarily works on a Monday – Friday roster, with travel (estimated at 25-50%) to various sites and locations within Australia.


Working in a tight, friendly, supportive and hard-working team, our Specialist – Technology Support champions new site technology implementations. They are subject matter experts, who provide hands-on project and process management support to our surface and underground mining customers, for Orica’s Digital Solutions, including the Advanced Characterisation System, (ACS) BlastIQ™ and FRAGTrack™ measurement systems.

What you will be doing

 

  • Scoping: Reviewing customer operations and assessing the correct Technology Solution to address the customer’s needs; 
  • Project Managing: Hands-on coordination and implementation of Technology Solutions onto our customer sites; 
  • Implementing: Delivering a range of products on-site with our customers, from software installations to equipment assembly; 
  • Training: Nurturing internal and external stakeholders to be effective operators of technologies, by tailoring and delivering training packages for customers and teams; 
  • Developing: Contributing, and having a definite say in product development; and 
  • Supporting: Acting as a subject matter expert, assisting with customer support, product stewardship, and advice. 

What you will bring

 

  • Safety mindset, following our key value – safety is the priority, always;
  • A proven ability in problem solving and root cause analysis, on equipment, operating systems and software;
  • Hands on equipment experience for assembling, installing or supporting field technologies;
  • Experience supporting and troubleshooting IT/OT (Networking experience desirable);
  • Proven success in managing, coordinating and implementing similar projects;
  • Experience in mining, especially drill and blast, would be well regarded
  • Aptitude and ability to deliver product training to single or multiple stakeholders in both classroom environments, or via remote platforms;
  • Excellent communication, both written and verbal alongside high level customer service skills; and
  • Certificate, Diploma or Degree in Electronics, Mechanical, Communications, Project Management or similar.
