About the role
Orica Digital Solutions is a leading player in the mining industry, dedicated to sustainable practices and innovative solutions. We are committed to driving growth and enhancing our global market presence through strategic partnerships and business development initiatives.
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Global Commercial Manager to lead our business development efforts across multiple geographies, including emerging markets. The position will be based in our Welshpool office working Mondays to Fridays.
The Global Commercial Manager role is critical in driving the company's growth and success. This position involves identifying new business opportunities, building strong relationships with clients and partners, and developing strategies to expand the company's market presence. This pivotal role requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record in managing business development activities and a deep understanding of the mining sector.
What you will be doing
- Identify Business Opportunities: Research and identify new markets, trends, and customer needs within the mining and natural resources sectors.
- Develop and Implement Strategies: Create and execute strategies for market expansion and customer acquisition to drive revenue growth.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients and partners to ensure high satisfaction and retention.
- Sales and Revenue Generation: Oversee the sales process from lead generation to deal closure, consistently meeting or exceeding targets.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product development, and operations, to align strategies and ensure seamless execution.
- Market Research: Conduct thorough market research to inform strategic decisions and identify potential growth opportunities.
- Stakeholder Management: Cultivate relationships with industry leaders and engage with senior leadership to align business development initiatives with long-term goals.
- Technical team management to facilitate sales.
What you will bring
- 10-15 years of experience in the mining industry or related sectors, with a strong understanding of operational, financial, and regulatory aspects.
- Proven track record in managing business development across multiple geographies, particularly in emerging markets.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and executing market entry strategies and go-to-market plans.
- Willingness to travel extensively to support global initiatives.
- Experience in diverse cultural environments, with the ability to adapt to different business practices.
- Commitment to ethical business practices and integrity.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills for crafting compelling presentations and reports.
- Strong commitment to safety and compliance, with a focus on promoting a culture of safety.
- Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a drive for continuous improvement.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft platforms and analytical skills to evaluate complex market data.
