Your Role as a Graduate - Chemical Engineer

 

As a Graduate – Chemical Engineer, you’ll be gaining hands-on experience with cutting-edge industrial processes and technologies.

What you will be doing

 

  • Get involved in real-world hazard identification and risk assessments, support process design, research, and continuous improvement projects to optimize operations;
  • Support real-world manufacturing operations, improve processes to ensure efficiency, product quality, and cost-effectiveness;
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure operations compliance with safety, environmental and quality standards within the workplace;
  • Contribute to the design and optimization of safe manufacturing and storage processes, especially for explosive or high-risk materials;
  • Participate in plant turnarounds and major projects;
  • Participate in occasional off-site engineering and local community activities supported by Orica.

What you will bring

 

  • A degree completed or due for completion in 2026 in Chemical Engineering;
  • A willingness to learn and grow in a hands-on, industrial environment;
  • A collaborative approach, with the ability to work effectively within diverse teams;
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across diverse teams and stakeholders;
  • A strong commitment to safety, continuous improvement, and learning in a dynamic operational environment.

Location and Support

 

These roles will be based at our Yarwun Manufacturing Facility, close to Gladstone, Queensland, where you’ll gain valuable, hands-on experience in a dynamic operational environment.
