About the role
We’re seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team at the Orica Yarwun site.
In this pivotal role, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the safety, reliability, and compliance of electrical systems across a complex manufacturing environment. Your expertise will help safeguard operational excellence by monitoring electrical asset performance, meeting regulatory standards, and driving continuous improvement in electrical safety and reliability.
You’ll collaborate with a diverse and dynamic team that values innovation, integrity, and teamwork—working across departments and with external partners to uphold the highest standards in electrical engineering and contribute meaningfully to our site’s success.
What you will be doing
- Develop and implement strategies for inspection, testing, and maintenance of electrical systems to ensure compliance and reliability.
- Lead investigations into electrical failures, identify root causes, and drive corrective actions.
- Provide technical expertise on high voltage (HV) systems and Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS).
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to align priorities and maintain compliance.
- Support audits, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives focused on electrical safety and performance.
What you will bring
- A degree in Electrical Engineering and at least 5 years of experience in industrial or manufacturing environments.
- Strong knowledge of electrical legislation, standards, and compliance frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with high voltage systems and Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) is highly desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- A proactive mindset with a strong commitment to safety, integrity, and continuous improvement.
