About the role

We are delighted to announce that an opportunity exists for a Bulk Warehousing Technician at our flagship Yarwun manufacturing site located in Gladstone, Queensland.

Orica Yarwun manufactures nitric acid, ammonium nitrate and sodium cyanide products which are used in mining, infrastructure, agriculture, and water industries locally, nationally and internationally.

You will be responsible for the safe and timely execution of all material handling activities within the Ammonium Nitrate product warehouse and accountable for inventory accuracy, maintaining the integrity of all the products and performing all tasks related to Group standards and procedures.

The role is a 6-month fixed term contract and will be part of a shift team working Monday to Sunday; 4 days on 5 days off; 5 days on 4 days off; 5 days on 5 days off, 28-day continuous cycle. Additional hours may be required to be worked to meet business and training requirements.

What you will be doing

• Perform all tasks following Health and Safety as a top priority;
• Performing activities for loadout and dispatching product;
• Ensure that all legal requirements for dangerous goods storage are met at all times;
• Working with Orica and non-Orica personnel to load and dispatch product.

What you will bring

• Forklift License is a must have;
• Front end loader experience is highly desirable;
• Ability to pass a background security check and obtain an Explosives Security Clearance;
• Experience in dangerous product handling an advantage.
