About the role

The Technician - On Bench Operations provides support in conducting blasting operations, plant and ancillary equipment operation in accordance with the service level agreement, corporate and regulatory standards and assists in providing a quality service of bulk explosive delivery to customers in a safe and environmentally conscious manner at all times and operates plant and equipment providing the delivery of blasting products and services to our customer.

What you will be doing

Key Accountabilities Provides analytical/decision support to area manager Participates in the short, medium, and long-term planning activities of the site. Meet fixed cost budgets on a yearly basis. Completes mandatory monthly inventory counts and reconciliations Audits and inspects site operations to ensure regulatory requirements are met Ensures mandatory training of all employees is completed and documented Documents all training activities Ensures that good housekeeping, record keeping, and preventative maintenance programs are in place. Assists in preparation of fixed cost budgets, capital expenditures, staffing, equipment requirements, and an updated Resource Model. Analyses site inventories to minimize product quantities Schedules daily activities of employees to meet customer requirements Communicates and develops/implements action plan Effectively communicates and manages all outside regulatory agency Ensures best product mix communicated to customer where appropriate to minimize cost. Reports all Unusual Incidents and Accidents immediately Participates in daily Toolbox talks and Monthly Safety Meetings Undertakes all and any necessary training for Operations, SHEC and site specific requirements Maintains all personal training against the Orica training Matrix for your role Ensures all emergency equipment and First Aid kits are complete Assists in the management of Audit actions Ensures minimum damage to the environment through waste minimisation and control Ensures raw materials and dangerous goods are used, handled and stored according to requirements of the SDS. Maintains required House Keeping standards Notifies Orica site management of any variations in product specification, appearance or performance Assists the client in achieving targets and maintaining production Maintains professional relationships within Orica and with customers Performs other ancillary duties including relief at other locations, consistent with level of competence as reasonably instructed by the supervisor

What you will bring

With tertiary or technical qualification - up to 2 years experience post qualification.
Without formal qualifications - up to 10 years of administrative experience, or allocation of  work to operators.

Role dependent - technical &/or functional business system applications required for tasks (e.g. SAP, SF, Concur, analytics/visualisation tools, engineering software, etc.)

Your qualifications

Insert tertiary qualification required for role (e.g. Accountant must have a tertiary degree in an Accounting discipline, an Engineer must have a tertiary degree in an Engineering discipline)

Technical qualification / legistlative / SHES certification
