About the role
The Field Support Technician provides in-field and phone support to customers, involving instruction in the use of, troubleshooting, and general advice relating to Axis Mining Technologies' suite of equipment and services. The role also encompasses operational support in the form of tool calibration and service, and operational coordination to ensure high client service levels.
What you will be doing
As the Field Support Technician, you will be responsible for:
• Providing in-field instruction in the use of Axis suite of products to customers and agents, mostly on mine-sites and/or in remote locations
• Troubleshooting problems and providing support to customers regarding the Axis suite of products
• Checking and calibrating survey tools
• Arranging delivery and receipt of rental equipment
• Monitoring and managing shipment tracking to ensure timely delivery to clients
• Maintaining and updating asset tracking lists in coordination with management
• Collaborating with the factory team to monitor and maintain healthy stock levels
• Scheduling travel and tasks to ensure customer requirements are met
• Liaising directly with customers regarding travel arrangements and site access requirements
• Assisting the rental coordinator in setting up rental kits as required
• Performing other tasks as directed by management
• Tracking and monitoring shipment status and providing updates to clients
• Maintaining detailed records of asset locations and movements
Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) responsibilities
• Cooperate and support activities undertaken by Axis Mining Technology to comply with OHS legislation
• Comply with OHS procedures and adopt work practices that support OHS programs
• Take due and reasonable care of your own health and safety and the health and safety of others who may be affected by your conduct or actions in the workplace
• Seek guidance for all new or modified work procedures
• Ensure that any hazardous conditions, near miss incidents, injuries, or unexpected events are reported immediately to your supervisor
• Not willfully place at risk the health or safety of any person in the workplace
• Not willfully or recklessly interfere with or misuse anything provided in the interest of environmental health and safety or welfare
• Work in accordance with current OHS policies and procedures
• Always use correct personal protective equipment

• In-depth knowledge of drill-hole survey equipment, systems, and processes
• Basic understanding of drilling principles and practices
• Attention to detail and ability to perform manual tasks
• Energetic personality able to multitask and prioritize workload
• Demonstrated ability to be a team player and work cooperatively with other stakeholders
• Strong client service orientation
• Preparedness to work underground
• Confidentiality and accuracy
• Availability to travel up to 50% of the time
• Background in Geology, Mining Engineering, or related field (valued)
