About the role

The Senior Engineer – Technical Services role leads the Regional Technical Services team to deliver safe, practical and value-adding technical support to customers. It translates technical insight into measurable outcomes, strengthens customer partnerships, and contributes to sustainable revenue growth for Orica.

Based at our Udaipur site, this is a customer-facing, site-based role that works closely with mining operations across the region. It also involves regular travel to customer sites to support technical delivery, build relationships and drive performance improvements on the ground.

The role also builds team capability, supports business development, and ensures consistent, compliant and high-quality delivery of Technical Services across customer sites.

What you will be doing

  • Lead safety execution and ensure compliance with Orica Safe Operating Procedures and site standards
  • Lead, coach and develop Technical Services Engineers, including onboarding, competency assessment and capability building
  • Build and maintain strong customer technical relationships and engagement plans
  • Identify customer needs and translate into technical solutions and business opportunities
  • Lead delivery of technical services projects that drive measurable customer value, including new technologies and improvement initiatives
  • Analyse blast performance and apply data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement
  • Develop technical method statements and support customer tenders and proposals
  • Partner with Territory Managers to deliver customer value presentations and technical support
  • Coordinate product application stewardship, including safe and effective use of products and systems
  • Plan and allocate Technical Services resources while managing variable costs and spend

What you will bring

  • Bachelor’s degree / B.Tech / B.E. in Mining Engineering from a recognised university or institute, with demonstrated capability in drill and blast, technical problem solving, customer engagement and safe field execution
  • Proven ability to analyse blast performance and deliver practical, data-driven improvements
  • Strong safety leadership and ability to manage risk in site-based environments
  • Experience working in mining, quarrying, cement or heavy industry settings
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and build trusted customer relationships
  • Ability to lead, influence and manage competing priorities in a field-based role
