About the role - Site Supervisor (Quintette, BC)

We are excited to announce a new opportunity for a Site Supervisor focused on providing site leadership and support to the Quintette site, ensuring all areas of business requirement are delivered in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring ongoing growth both personally and for the business.

What you will be doing

People Development and Safety

  • Ensures all employees complete mandatory training, with proper documentation maintained
  • Manages employee training plans and documents all training activities
  • Develops, motivates, and supervises employees to achieve their full potential while maintaining safe customer service standards
  • Maintains strong housekeeping, record keeping, and preventative maintenance programs
  • Ensures non-compliances are promptly reported for investigation and resolution

Operational Excellence and Compliance

  • Provides analytical and decision support to the area manager to drive continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing operational costs
  • Participates in short, medium and long-term planning activities for the site
  • Completes mandatory monthly inventory counts and reconciliations, conducts safety meetings, and prepares the annual Letter of Assurance, ensuring all assigned actions are completed within required databases
  • Audits and inspects site operations to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company safety policies
  • Assists in the preparation of fixed cost budgets, capital expenditures, staffing, equipment requirements, and keeps the resource model updated
  • Analyses site inventories to minimise product quantities and improve site profitability through stock rotation and effective management
  • Schedules daily activities of employees to meet customer needs and oversees site management, including raw material ordering and preventative maintenance
  • Manages and responds to operational issues by developing and implementing action plans
  • Communicates and manages all external regulatory agency audits and inspections, implementing necessary action plans as required

Production Performance and Customer Focus

  • Maintains, develops, and grows accounts in a safe and profitable manner, meeting corporate goals and enhancing customer satisfaction
  • Communicates regularly with customers to identify opportunities for improving Orica services
  • Ensures products meet quality and volume requirements on an hourly and daily basis
  • Responds to and communicates any deviations from production plans
  • Delivers process planning as an integral component of maintenance planning and scheduling

What you will bring

 

  • Ability to provide customer solutions matching Orica operational abilities and budgetary requirements.
  • Ability to analyze/impact financial data utilizing SAP, and PowerBI.
  • Organization, attentive to detail, time management and quality control.
  • Strong degree of professionalism and self-motivation.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining customer service relationships in a market with significant growth opportunities.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Knowledge of Federal, Provincial and other applicable regulations.
  • Mechanical comprehension of operation/maintenance of equipment.
  • Strong computer or base skills including Microsoft Office, Outlook and Internet.
  • SAP and Power BI are a plus
  • Ability to interact effectively with people in varying situations.
  • Ability to develop and conduct effective marketing and promotional campaigns.
  • Ability to identify and sell the benefits of Orica products and services and structure value propositions.

 

Role dimensions

 

  • Full Time Salary position
  • Schedule – 14 days on / 14 days off.
  • Company vehicle will be provided.
  • Housing while on shift, meals expensed.

Your qualifications

 

  • Proven experience managing a team of 10 including field workers, mechanics, and contractors
  • Progressive mining industry experience.
