About the role

 

Step into a pivotal role at Orica’s Cebu-based site, where engineering excellence meets operational impact. As Superintendent – Maintenance, you’ll be at the helm of regional maintenance performance—ensuring all systems, assets, and processes deliver safe, reliable, and cost-effective outcomes across the site.

 

Your Core Mission: Deliver fit-for-purpose equipment and engineering support across the full asset lifecycle, driving availability, cost control, and operational efficiency.

What you will be doing

 

  • Lead maintenance execution across plant and site operations, ensuring equipment reliability and safety through strong mechanical engineering expertise. 
  • Oversee daily planning, coordination, and performance of site-based maintenance teams and contractors to support continuous plant uptime.  
  • Apply strategic lifecycle management principles to minimize total equipment ownership cost and enhance availability.  
  • Drive preventive maintenance programs, spares control, and reliability engineering strategies tailored to site operational requirements.  
  • Supervise technical teams in diagnosing, resolving, and documenting equipment failures to prevent recurring issues.  
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders—including production, supply chain, and safety teams—to align maintenance with operational goals.  
  • Champion compliance with Orica’s SHE standards and ensure all site maintenance activities meet corporate and regulatory requirements.  
  • Identify improvement opportunities and implement initiatives that enhance mechanical integrity, plant performance, and operational efficiency.

What you will bring

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years in a similar maintenance or plant operations role, with proven leadership in site-based technical environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Hot Water Generators, pumps, compressors, and electrical troubleshooting; working knowledge of instrumentation systems.
  • Proficient in maintenance scheduling and preventive planning to reduce downtime and extend equipment lifecycle.
  • Familiarity with electronic trucks and the use of diagnostic scanners; strong analytical approach to identifying and solving mechanical issues.
