About The Role – Technical Services Representative (Timmins ON)

 

 

We are seeking a Technical Services Representative to support customer accounts in the Timmins region with practical, site-based expertise across blasting products, systems, and services. Working with customer teams and Orica’s Technical Services, Operations, and Commercial groups, the role will help improve blasting outcomes, support safe product application, and implement technical solutions that deliver measurable customer value. Regular regional travel to customer mine sites is expected.

What you will be doing

 

 

•    Build trusted technical relationships with customers and identify operational needs, continuous-improvement opportunities, and potential business development opportunities
•    Assess blast performance, review compliance with established best practices, and provide practical technical recommendations
•    Collect, analyze, and report technical data to demonstrate performance and track customer value
•    Support the implementation and troubleshooting of Orica Digital Solutions and Electronic Blasting Systems
•    Lead product and service trials, implementation projects, and related underground site activities
•    Conduct regular on-site quality assurance audits of products and services and follow up on identified issues
•    Collaborate with customer teams and Orica stakeholders to resolve technical issues and support operational priorities
•    Prepare case studies and deliver classroom and on-site customer training and accreditation

 

What you will bring

 

•    Underground drill-and-blast, explosives, or related technical services experience is preferred
•    Blast design experience and knowledge of blast performance measurement and technical reporting are strong assets
•    Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; familiarity with CAD-based, blast design, or data analysis software is a strong asset

Your qualifications

 

•    Diploma or degree in Mining Engineering, a Mining Technologist certificate, or a related technical discipline; an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered
•    Underground drill-and-blast, explosives, or related technical services experience is preferred
•    Blast design experience and knowledge of blast performance measurement and technical reporting are strong assets
•    Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; familiarity with CAD-based, blast design, or data analysis software is a strong asset
•    Fluency in English is required; the ability to work in French is an asset
•    A valid driver’s licence and the ability to meet customer site access, medical, and safety requirements
•    Ability to provide rapid support to the Timmins customer base and travel occasionally to other Orica mining customers, approximately 10% of the time

Compensation  

•    Salary Range: $84,000 –$110,000 CAD
•    Eligible for annual short-term incentive plan

 


Salary to be determined by the applicant’s experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
