About the role
It’s an exciting time at Orica. Our Digital Solutions business is continually developing cutting-edge technologies which are changing the Mining and Infrastructure sectors as we know them. Due to this significant growth within our Digital Solutions business, we are delighted to announce that we are inviting applications for the exciting opportunity of Team Lead - Manufacturing.
Working alongside our friendly and supportive team in our offices in Tewkesbury, United Kingdom, the primary responsibility of the Team Lead - Manufacturing is to manage all Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Motivation outcomes and associated improvement strategies.
What you will be doing
• Ensuring that Safety, Health, Environment is prioritised throughout entire Plant Operation.
• Delivering Process Planning as an integrated component of Production Scheduling and Repair & Maintenance of Customer equipment.
• Deliver the final product that meets the scheduled volume demand and QA/QC requirements.
• Managing, motivating, mentoring, training and developing a talented Orica Digital Solutions production, technical and supply chain team.
• Supporting all stakeholders in R&D, Supply Chain, Production and Manufacturing in delivering the overall business objectives.
• Preparing, reviewing, and updating process documentation and standard operating procedures and special test procedures as directed for the existing and future product range.
• Actively lead supply chain with inventory management, production forecasting leading to customer order fulfilment.
• Leading the process and sustaining engineering team in assessing the current manufacturing processes and implementing improvement opportunities to increase efficiencies and deliver growth.
• Driving an inclusive culture of continuous improvement within the operations team.
What you will bring
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience post professional qualification.
• Direct people management knowhow of teams greater than 10 employees.
• Proven leadership and collaborative approach in the development of the direction and operation of the manufacturing workstream.
• Strong experience in best practice PCBA and small batch electromechanical assembly manufacturing.
• Ability to conduct root cause analysis and corrective action planning
• Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and production documentation
• Excellent troubleshooting skills in fast-paced production environments
• Data-driven decision-making using KPIs and production metrics
• Competency in ERP/MRP systems
• Strong Excel and data analysis skills for production reporting and forecasting
• Direct knowledge of managing all elements of the supply chain, from vendor, through manufacturing to product delivery to the end client.
• Extensive experience in implementing process improvement initiatives.
• Firsthand production scheduling knowledge.
• Demonstrated skills associated with stakeholder management and building strong vendor relationships.
• Financial planning and budget management.
