About the role

Orica’s Digital Solutions business is rapidly growing, developing cutting-edge technologies that are transforming the Mining and Infrastructure sectors. As part of this growth, we are excited to invite applications for the role of Assembly Technician based in Tewkesbury.
Working as part of our friendly and supportive electronic design and manufacturing team, the Assembly Technician will contribute to the production of high-quality electronic and electromechanical products used in our advanced survey instruments.

What you will be doing

• Assembling electronic products, including surface mount PCB assembly, light electromechanical components, wiring looms, and hand soldering of electronic interconnections
• Supporting the manufacture and assembly of electromechanical survey instruments used for directional borehole surveying
• Performing kit assembly and packing of finished products
• Following detailed work instructions to ensure high-quality output
• Assisting with product and process development using a flexible, multi-skilled approach
• Documenting work and maintaining quality records in line with Orica’s QES (Quality, Environment, Safety) standards

What you will bring

• Strong hand soldering skills and the ability to assemble small components to a high standard
• Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision
• IPC J-STD-001 certification (preferred but not essential – in-house training provided)
• Good interpersonal skills and a willingness to learn and adapt
• Experience in logistics or manufacturing is beneficial
• A proactive attitude and commitment to quality and continuous improvement
