About the role
The Operator - Asset provides reliable and safe movement of mobile fleet, equipment and plant and will also be responsible for performing preventive, corrective, and emergency repairs on a wide range of industrial equipment and machinery.
What you will be doing
- Equipment movement: Safely and reliably move all company equipment, plant, and mobile fleet as directed.
- Performing equipment maintenance: Carrying out routine preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
- Safety and compliance: Know and adhere to all relevant procedures, statutory requirements, and codes.
- Risk management: Continually assess risks associated with regional operations and maintenance, taking corrective action when necessary.
- Performing equipment maintenance: Carrying out routine preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Collaboration: Working closely with operations, production, and engineering teams, as well as contractors, to ensure plant reliability and address technical issues.
What you will bring
- Technical expertise: Strong practical knowledge of auto-mechanical, auto-electrical, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems, supported by a relevant trade certification or diploma.
- Experience: At least 2 years of hands-on experience in a heavy-duty equipment operation and maintenance. (Experience in Auto-Electrical systems is an added advantage).
- Troubleshooting skills: The ability to diagnose and solve complex technical problems is essential for minimizing equipment downtime.
- Communication: Effective verbal and written communication skills are necessary for reporting, collaboration, and training.
- Computer literacy: Competent with computer systems for reporting.
Your qualifications
- Technical diploma: A diploma or higher national diploma (HND) in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronic Engineering from a recognized institution.
- Vocational training: National Certificates (NC1 and NC2) or other relevant vocational certifications in Industrial Maintenance or related trades.
- A valid Ghanaian driver’s license (Heavy duty equipment preferred).
