About the role
We’re looking for a hands-on Field Support Technician (Hypercharge Drive Technician) to join our Mining Services team based in Townsville.
In this role, you’ll support underground blasting equipment through maintenance, troubleshooting, and technical advice across Queensland and the Pacific region.
You’ll work on a 15/13 roster and manage your own schedule to support site visits, equipment checks, and customer requirements.
What you will be doing
- Maintain and troubleshoot underground blasting equipment (Hypercharge Drive Units and related systems);
- Identify and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, or electrical faults;
- Provide practical, clear technical advice (on-site or remotely);
- Support customers during breakdowns and urgent situations;
- Conduct equipment checks and maintenance audits;
- Help install and commission new systems;
- Share knowledge and guide customers on safe and best use of equipment;
- Work safely and follow site and company standards.
What you will bring
We’re open to candidates from different backgrounds who can demonstrate:
- Strong hands-on experience in maintaining mobile or fixed plant equipment;
- Practical skills in mechanical, hydraulic, or electrical systems;
- Ability to diagnose issues and solve problems independently;
- Confidence working on-site and managing your own workload;
- Clear communication skills when supporting customers or teams;
- A safety-first mindset and understanding of safe work practices.
Bonus if you have:
- Underground or mining environment experience;
- Experience supporting customers or training others;
- Exposure to blasting, drilling, or similar equipment.
