About the role

Be part of a team dedicated to building a safe, skilled, and high-performing workforce. As a Trainer/Assessor, you will play a critical role in delivering site-based training and competency assessments that support operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and workforce capability development. You will ensure all training activities align with Orica's obligations as a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and meet applicable national standards, while partnering closely with operators, technicians, and site stakeholders to foster a strong culture of safety, learning, and continuous improvement.

 

This role is ideal for individuals with experience in industrial, mining, heavy vehicle, transportation, or manufacturing environments who are passionate about developing people and enhancing operational performance.

 

Location: Orica Shah Alam Depot, Malaysia.

What you will be doing

  • Manage the site-based component of Orica’s RTO obligations, ensuring all training aligns with national and Orica standards.
  • Coordinate and deliver training activities across assigned sites, including conducting training sessions and final assessments as required.
  • Ensure all employees have up-to-date training plans and that site managers are informed of their teams’ training needs.
  • Maintain and update compliance reporting databases and spreadsheets.
  • Audit employee training plans to ensure compliance with minimum standards for each role.
  • Drive operational safety and governance of group standards through effective training delivery.
  • Ensure critical competencies are maintained and compliant for all site-based employees.
  • Support continuous improvement in training processes and documentation.

What you will bring

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in training coordination, competency development, and assessment delivery within manufacturing, mining, transportation, automotive, or other industrial environments.
  • Hands-on industry background in trucks, mining vehicles, heavy vehicles, lorries, maintenance, operations, or automotive sectors, with a strong understanding of operational workforce requirements.
  • Solid knowledge of safety standards, regulatory compliance, and operational training practices, with a demonstrated commitment to promoting a safe and compliant workplace.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage, coach, and deliver training effectively to operators, technicians, and site personnel, including training delivery in Bahasa Melayu.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized professional with a good understanding of Malaysian work practices, proficiency in relevant business systems, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while driving quality and continuous improvement initiatives.
