About the role

 

Step into an exciting role as a Trainer/Assessor, where you'll oversee and coordinate the infield training and assessment requirements for Orica Operations personnel. Your role will be instrumental in conducting impactful training sessions and issuing Statements of Attainment. This is your chance to make a real difference and help shape the future of our talented team.

 

This role will be based out of our Shah Alam office and will require travelling to various Orica sites.

What you will be doing

 

  • Manages the site-based component of Orica's obligations as a Registered Training Organisation (RTO).
  • Ensures training is completed in line with National Standards, and drives operational safety and group standards governance.
  • Ensures critical competencies are compliant.
  • Coordinates training activities across assigned sites.
  • Ensures every employee has a training plan and is aware of it, and that every site manager knows the training needs of their employees.
  • Conducts training and final assessments where needed.
  • Audits employees' training plans to ensure they comply with minimum standards for their roles.
  • Updates compliance reporting databases and spreadsheets.

What you will bring

 

  • Over 5 years of experience in training and development, preferably within a corporate setting.
  • Valuable experience in mining, explosives, or heavy industries is a strong advantage.
  • Preferably with experience as a Shotfirer.
  • Proficient in using learning management systems and other training platforms.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement effective training programs.
  • Skilled in using software such as Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and various training applications.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills to manage multiple training programs simultaneously.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and departments.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Mining Safety Management Systems, with a consistent focus on prioritizing safety.
