About the role
Support the development of the Sourcing Plan and category strategy; execute against the plan and monitor performance and outcomes
What you will be doing
• Generate and implement sourcing strategies alignned with the category strategy, supporting the development and execution of the category strategy through market intelligence and agreed initiatives.
• Develop, execute and monitor the annual sourcing plan for the assigned categories, ensuring alignment and timely execution with key stakeholders.
• Prepare, distribute RFx documents. Collate and analise the responses.
• Develop negotiation strategies to ensure Orica’s position is commercially and legally strong and will deliver the best outcome.
• Assist in communication with key stakeholders in development and changes to sourcing strategy.
• Coordinate product development and new supplier initiatives, managing the interfaces with support functions (PPIS /IS, Quality, Manufacturing team) to ensure the execution of all product and supplier validation activities.
• Update the negotiation strategies to suit changes observed in the sourcing landscape.
• Conduct analytical activities such as scenario analisis, shouldcost modeling, benchmarking and/or other cost/value assessments as required Feedback and support to the Global Category Management team on market intelligence, insights and idea generation for the development and periodic update of the category strategy.
• Activiely participate in cross-functional, multi-level engagements for problem resolution.
• Identify and mitigate supply risks, supporting the resolution of supply chain risk events (shortages, delivery issues, quality) working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure sourcing activities and outcomes comply with Orica Group Standards (e.g., GS.07), required approvals (DOA) and SHES/PPIS/IS/Quality requirements (where applicable), maintaining full traceability of sourcing documentation and decisions.
• Identify, quantify, track, and report savings/value delivered, ensuring registration and follow-up in the Saving Tracker in line with reporting requirements.
• Contribute to the development and measurement of effective team KPI’s (including savings tracking where applicable) to ensure delivery of commitments.
• Work collaboratively with Procurement and GBS teams to ensure end-to-end execution, effective handoffs and timely resolution of operational issues impacting suppliers and business continuity.
• Work as a team with Contracts Management and Supplier Management in overall category strategy delivery.
• Actively participate in the SRM program, supporting supplier performance reviews and joint improvement initiatives with strategic suppliers (in coordination with Supplier Management).
Your qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in logistics, supply chain, business or engineering
• Minimum of 5 years experience in procurement within sourcing/category management
• Experience developing and implementing sourcing strategies (preferably in the category in question)
• SAP MM experience required (S2P2P procceses)
• English (B2), Spanish (B2)
• Working knowledge of souring strategy selection and process
• Experienced with building vendor and other stakeholder relationships
• Must be able to pass pre-employment medical checks
• Mining, Oil & Gas, Industrial, and other relevant B2B Marketing industries
• Portuguese: Working proficiency (B1)
• PowerBI knowledge is a plus
• Experience working with ARIBA is a plus
