About The Role - Senior Technical Services Representative - (US Remote)
The Senior Engineer/ Representative - Technical Services leads regional technical services initiatives for all market segments, focused on delivering measurable value to customers and sustainable revenue to Orica.
What you will be doing
- Facilitates and performs risk assessments for advanced blasting services.
- Identifies and takes action to mitigate environmental risks including customer and some third party liaison.
- Write incident reports.
- Develops strong relationships with key mine site personnel up to Technical department head, and to other key production and operations personnel as required.
- Builds extensive knowledge of key accounts and customer site hierarchy.
- Analyses data from blast measurements and assess performance against a baseline.
- Leads and manages product stewardship activities for region as appropriate.
- Ensures maximum service revenue generated from provided technical services as per contracted service level agreement.
- Captures the value delivered to customers through case studies, promotional articles and technical papers.
- Project Manages intros of new IS, Bulk and PE products (Commercialization of new products and technology).
- Audits of blasting practices for internal and external customers.
What you will bring
- Performing mining engineering activities related to explosives, initiation systems, and their application in blasting solutions for Construction, Quarries, Open Pit and Underground Mines.
- Mining/Explosives product sales experience, including experience with customers, blasters, engineering staff, and operations staff.
- Identifying client needs and developing solutions based on operational abilities and budgetary requirements.
- Familiarity and experience with computer-based data acquisition tools (eg Boretrak, laser profiling, 3G Photogrammetry) as well as basic computer skills such as file handling and the use of Microsoft Office programs.
- Experience with drone mapping / photogrammetry
- Valid drone pilot's license required
Role dimensions
- Full time Salaried Position
- Work Schedule - Monday through Friday
- 75% travel within the Territory/Region
- Some travel may require multiple overnights in a week
- Coverage across the US customer base
Your qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Geosciences or Engineering, or equivalent
- At least 7 years of work experience as a mining engineer, mining sales engineer, or related industry experience, including experience with the technical, business, and operations aspects of the mining or explosive industry.

Compensation
- Full time Salaried Position
- Annual Salary Range: $103,125 - $125,000 USD
- Eligible for annual short-term incentive plan
- Company Vehicle
(Salary to be determined by the applicant’s experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.)
