About the role

We are delighted to announce that we are inviting applications for the role of Senior Site Supervisor at our UG Operation in South Australia. Operating on a Monday - Thursday FIFO roster or Mon – Fri Residential Roster , the Senior Site Supervisor is a critical role pivotal in overseeing Bulk Delivery Operations to OC/UG customers directly from the field site, while also providing essential support to other sites within the South Australian Region.

Attending client meetings, performing incident investigations, and playing a key role in developing safety management plans are just some of the duties the Senior Site Supervisor will perform.

This role can either be viewed as a long-term and secure site-based Supervisory role, or an ideal stepping stone into a Territory Managerial career with Orica.

What you will be doing

• Living and breathing Orica's safety values always.
• Coordinating site mobilisations and demobilisations.
• Driving Operational Discipline 
• Live and breathe Orica's safety values at all times.
• Lead and motivate a highly skilled team of MMU/ MCU Operators;
• Provide analytical/decision support to Territory manager on continuous improvement plan.
• Coordinate logistics of raw materials, equipment, and MMU/MCU / Fitters Operators.
• Ensure operational process meets Orica standards and customer's expectations.
• Ensuring operational process meets Orica standards and customer's expectations.
• Change management, project management, people management, report generation, prep and conduct customer meetings.

What you will bring

• ​​​​5+ years of proven experience in an operational leadership role.
• Qualifications in frontline management and project management (demonstrated)
• Knowledge of the UG mining / explosives industry is essential
• Effective communication skills, written and verbal. 
• Intermediate to Advanced MS Office Suite Skills Essential. 
• Sound knowledge of good operational practices and regulatory requirements.
• Demonstrated previous experience leading and managing people, assets and customers.  
• High developed computer literacy for day-to-day requirements.
• Sound knowledge of the mining industry (desirable).
• Ability to work unsupervised. Ability to effectively lead and train small groups
• Experience in system / process / risk improvements
• Thorough knowledge of Orica Mining Services Operations (preferred)
• Decisive: You have the ability and experience in making decisions quickly and soundly.

• Ownership: You own the responsibility assigned to you as Supervisor and the deliveries of your team.

• Courageous: You have the capability to have courageous decisions when required.
