About the role

 
Join Orica as a Talent Acquisition Specialist and help shape the future of talent across Africa. Based in either Accra, Ghana or Johannesburg, South Africa, and reporting to the Talent Acquisition Team Lead, you will partner with business leaders and hiring managers to attract, assess, and secure exceptional talent across the region.

What you will be doing

 
• Partner with business leaders and hiring managers to develop and deliver talent acquisition strategies that support workforce planning and business growth.
• Act as a trusted talent advisor, building strong stakeholder relationships and providing market insights that inform hiring decisions.
• Develop and execute sourcing and talent attraction strategies using talent mapping, LinkedIn Recruiter, AI-enabled tools and market intelligence to build diverse talent pipelines.
• Identify, engage and secure high-quality active and passive talent across multiple African markets.
• Manage end-to-end recruitment processes, from sourcing and assessment through to offer negotiation and pre-employment checks.
• Promote Orica's employer brand and Employee Value Proposition through targeted attraction and candidate engagement initiatives.
• Utilise recruitment technology, analytics and market data to improve hiring outcomes, optimise processes and support data-driven decision making.
• Partner with HR and cross-functional stakeholders to support workforce planning and recruitment delivery across the business.
• Contribute to regional talent programmes and strategic talent initiatives, including graduate, intern, trainee and early-career recruitment.

What you will bring

 
• Proven experience managing end-to-end recruitment across multiple functions, workforce segments and geographic markets.
• Expertise in advanced sourcing methodologies, including Boolean search, LinkedIn sourcing, talent mapping and AI-enabled recruitment tools.
• Strong understanding of African labour markets and experience recruiting across multiple countries and regions.
• Demonstrated success recruiting across blue-collar, technical and professional talent segments, developing targeted attraction strategies and talent initiatives that improve hiring outcomes.
• Ability to build credibility, influence stakeholders and operate effectively within a complex matrix organisation.
• Experience using Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and recruitment analytics to measure performance and drive continuous improvement.
• Strong organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple requisitions while delivering an exceptional candidate and hiring manager experience.
