About the role

 

We are seeking a highly skilled Design Draftsperson to join our team.  In this role, you will prepare designs, specifications, and detailed drawings for the construction of fixed and mobile plant. You will champion the Design Quality Plan (DQP) within our Drawing Management System and assist in managing drafting workloads and deliverables, including coordination with external contractors.

What you will be doing

 

  • Producing high-quality design drafting for Delivery Systems and Fixed Plant, including concept layouts and detailed construction drawings across civil, mechanical, and electrical disciplines.
  • Ensuring all drafting complies with the Design Quality Plan (DQP) and relevant Company and Australian Standards, maintaining safety requirements throughout.
  • Reviewing and checking drafting work, supervising internal and external drafting activities, and supporting workflow management, prioritisation, and resourcing.
  • Leading by example in Safety, Health, and Environment (SH&E) standards, ensuring compliance with regulations and promoting a strong safety culture.
  • Utilising and continuously improving computer-aided drafting processes using AutoCAD and SolidWorks, applying expert knowledge to enhance design quality and efficiency.

What you will bring

 

  • A minimum of 8 years’ experience in an engineering design drafting role.
  • A thorough knowledge of AS1100 drawing standards.
  • Practical understanding of materials handling and pumping systems.
  • Skills in engineering design and drafting with extensive experience in AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • High integrity, creativity, and a collaborative approach to work.
