About the role
We are hiring an experienced Shotfirer to take the lead in delivering safe, efficient blasting operations across our Railton site. This is a hands-on role where you’ll own the full blast cycle, from preparation through to execution, ensuring every activity is completed to the highest safety and quality standards.
You’ll lead on-site crews during blast events, work closely with operators and client representatives, and play a key role in keeping operations running smoothly. Your leadership and technical expertise will directly impact site productivity, safety outcomes, and customer satisfaction.
This role suits someone who enjoys being on the ground, takes pride in their work, and values strong teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
What you will be doing
- Lead and execute safe, compliant blasting activities;
- Manage crews during blast events and coordinate on-site operations;
- Conduct pre-blast checks and toolbox talks;
- Maintain strong customer relationships and support production targets;
- Complete post-blast reporting and ensure accurate records.
What you will bring
- Current TAS Shotfirer ticket or equivalent (essential);
- Strong safety mindset and ability to follow procedures;
- Experience in quarrying, mining or heavy industry;
- Leadership capability and confidence under pressure;
- Solid communication skills and customer focus.
