About the role

Responsible for meeting the daily, weekly and monthly production plans to ensure quality product is available as required to satisfy the S&OP; provide support to the Manager, management of inventory and maintenance plant. – Product Line and be responsible to deliver certain subsections of his/her associated responsibilities; lead the shift-based production team.

What you will be doing

  • Safety, health, and environmental procedures are adhered to by all members of the Production Team
  • Product produced meets the quality and volume requirements hourly and daily
  • Respond to and communicate deviations from production plans (including plant trip notification updates/timelines)
  • Plant operation is always within the safe operating window as defined. Ensure non-compliances are reported for investigation and resolution.
  • Plant operation time maximised within the defined efficiency operating window
  • Efficient use of raw materials
  • Deliver Process Planning as an integrated component of Maintenance Planning and Scheduling
  • Execute the planned and unplanned preparation of the plant, including the necessary permit to work processes, to allow safe and efficient maintenance execution (including shutdowns).
  • Conduct regular scheduled and unscheduled plant equipment and general inspections and formalise outcomes and actions.
  • Management of the Shift Supervisors and their engagement and motivation which includes ensuring their training and development, performance management, reward and recognitions etc.
  • Management of overtime and related approvals of the production shift teams.
  • Join the Production Superintendents CoP (Community of Practise) with the purpose of collaborating on best practise and the improvement agenda relevant to the position and its requirements.
  • Provide a work environment that encourages individuals to be self-motivated
  • Plan, organize, and control inventory levels to ensure the continuous availability of raw materials, spare parts, and supplies without overstocking.
  • Plan, schedule, and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance activities for plant equipment and facilities.
  • Ensure equipment reliability and availability to support production targets and minimize downtime.
  • Supervise maintenance personnel and contractors, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and to quality standards.
  • Coordinate with purchasing and suppliers to manage replenishment, lead times, and minimum/maximum stock levels.

 

The Plant Supervisor - Production will represent the production operations team on the Product Line Management team and drive a culture of continuous improvement in the shift operations team.

What you will bring

  • The PS will have a Tertiary Qualification with Engineering / Science / Technical Degree highly preferred.
  • Excellent people management and communications skills at high and low levels
