About the role - Team Leader - Plant (Prince George, BC) (38588)

We are seeking a hands-on Team Leader to support plant operations at our Prince George site.

This is a working leadership role in a smaller, lean operation where you will be responsible for both leading the team and actively contributing to daily operations. You will oversee plant performance, safety, logistics coordination, and maintenance while ensuring reliable supply to our customers.

This role requires someone who is technically capable, adaptable, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

Schedule: 7 days on / 7 days off (12-hour shifts)

What you will be doing

Safety, Health & Environment (SHE)

  • Lead and promote a strong safety culture where no harm is the goal
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, regulatory, and Orica standards
  • Participate in and lead safety activities (Take5, JSERA, risk assessments)
  • Identify hazards and drive continuous improvement in safe work practices
  • Respond to incidents and emergency situations as required

Operations & Plant Performance

  • Operate and oversee plant processes to meet customer requirements
  • Troubleshoot process and equipment issues to maintain safe and reliable operations
  • Ensure efficient plant performance, including productivity and cost management
  • Support energy efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping and operational discipline

Planning & Logistics Coordination

  • Plan and coordinate daily plant requirements
  • Work closely with carriers, contractors, and internal teams to meet delivery schedules
  • Adjust plans in real time based on operational constraints and demand changes
  • Ensure accurate communication across all stakeholders

Maintenance & Reliability

  • Support and coordinate maintenance activities to maximize uptime
  • Prepare equipment for maintenance work and assist with minor maintenance when required
  • Work closely with maintenance and engineering teams to resolve issues
  • Ensure equipment is operating safely and within standards

Leadership & Team Development

  • Previous experience in plant operations, manufacturing, or industrial environment
  • Proven leadership or supervisory experience in a hands-on setting
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting ability
  • Ability to balance operations, maintenance, and logistics coordination
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

What you will bring

  • Grade 12 diploma
  • 4th Class Steam Ticket (required)
  • WHMIS, TDG, and other site-specific training
  • Mechanical or process background is an asset

Compensation Range

•    $43.27 Hr - $48.08 Hr

(Salary to be determined by the applicant’s experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.)
