About the role

We are looking for a qualified Motor Mechanic based in Port Moresby to join our Quarry Services team as a MMU Operator.

This is a unique opportunity to combine your mechanical trade skills with hands-on operational work in the explosives industry. No prior MMU operating experience is required, we will provide full training and support to help you develop into the role.

As part of our team, you will be responsible for carrying out vehicle and plant maintenance while also learning to operate our specialized MMU equipment used in the safe delivery of explosive products across quarry operations in the Port Moresby region.

The position offers a 5/2 days-only roster, competitive salary package, home-to-site transport arrangements, meals allowance, and accommodation while undertaking remote work assignments.

What you will be doing

• Live our core value: Safety is our Priority, Always.
• Operate MMU trucks and associated equipment following training.
• Carry out routine maintenance and repairs on plant, mobile equipment, and vehicles.
• Conduct pre-start inspections and identify maintenance requirements.
• Assist with preventative maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability.
• Support the safe delivery of explosive products into pre-drilled blast holes.
• Work closely with customers and teammates to deliver exceptional service.
• Follow company procedures and maintain high standards of safety, integrity, and professionalism.

What you will bring

• Must be currently residing in Port Moresby;
• Trade qualification as a Motor Mechanic;
• Current and valid Car Driver's Licence;
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and maintenance skills;
• Ability to work outdoors and perform physically demanding tasks;
• Strong commitment to safety and teamwork;
• Ability to pass police, security, medical, and drug and alcohol screening requirements.
