About the role
As a Specialist in Supply Chain Governance & Improvement, your key responsibilities will include managing Orica’s risk and license to operate by establishing and maintaining a comprehensive global process and data governance framework across the Global Supply Chain and Manufacturing functions. This involves ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal standards to safeguard the company's operations.
In addition to governance, you will play a crucial role in driving process improvements and enhancing business efficiency within these functions. This includes identifying areas for optimization, implementing best practices, and leveraging data analytics to support decision-making. Your efforts will contribute to streamlining operations, reducing costs, and improving overall performance across the supply chain and manufacturing processes.
What you will be doing
Governance & Compliance
- Review and maintain group standards, group procedures and Supply& Manufacturing best practices documents.
- Work with business users to implement key process controls and monitor compliance to existing standards, procedures and best practices.
- Champion programs to improve robustness of governance framework, in support of changing business environment.
- Assist in functional internal and external audit exercises.
- Instil high level of safety standards across Orica’s supply chain and manufacturing processes.
Process Improvement
- Drive business process improvement programs, including enabling technologies to support functional excellence in supply chain and manufacturing,
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to ensure high level of business efficiency and process embedment globally.
- Lead and coordinate change management across the function whilst ensuring minimal disruption to business.
- Provide functional and process training as necessary; and prepare training materials.
- Prepare monthly reports/metrics to monitor compliance and process improvement initiatives.
Community and Sustainability
- Drive responsible supply chain and manufacturing activities globally.
- Support Orica corporate goals and commitments to shareholders and our community which we operate in.
Please note that the selected candidate may need to support out of their normal working hours as this is a global role.
What you will bring
- Degree in any discipline
- 5 years’ working experience in manufacturing and or supply chain roles.
- Deep knowledge on SAP S4 Hana Sourcing and Procurement, (Material Management, Production and Capacity Planning, Production Scheduling and Execution, Quality Management, and related standard modules/master data), SAP Ariba, Vendor Invoice Management.
- SAP – accredited certification (i.e.: Production Planning and Manufacturing) or APICS certification (i.e. CPIM), preferred.
- Strong proficiency in MS Excel and excellent presentation and communication skills are essential.
