About the role

 

The Specialist - Supply Chain Excellence plays a pivotal role in driving performance management and continuous improvement across the Supply Chain function. This role is responsible for identifying and delivering initiatives that enhance business processes, optimize costs, and support the measurement and reporting of key Supply Chain KPIs.

 

Working closely with cross-functional teams including SMC Supply Chain, Finance, Commercial, and Manufacturing, the Specialist acts as a trusted partner in delivering value to our customers. The role requires a strong analytical mindset, a passion for operational excellence, and the ability to collaborate effectively to implement impactful improvements.

What you will be doing

 

  • Promote a culture of safety, sustainability, and continuous improvement across all activities.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain colleagues to identify process gaps, implement improvements, and monitor outcomes.
  • Improve efficiency across planning, logistics, and warehouse operations through process optimisation.
  • Map and document supply chain workflows, identifying inefficiencies and visualising processes.
  • Identify and track cost-saving opportunities through regular reviews and improvement sessions.
  • Address freight demurrage, detention, and storage issues to minimise costs and enhance traceability.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with SMC and regional business stakeholders while continuously enhancing data visualization tools to improve reporting efficiency and clarity.
  • Support the implementation of risk governance frameworks and standards across the Supply Chain, including participation in audits of supply chain-related processes and procedures.
  • Provide supply chain data analytics, dashboards, and KPI reporting for performance management and improvement.

What you will bring

 

  • A degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Finance, Supply Chain Management or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum 3-6 Years Manufacturing and Supply Chain experience.
  • Exposure to financial analysis or supporting financial/business case development is highly valued, especially in cross-functional or project-based settings.
  • Demonstrated expertise in SAP-enabled business processes, complemented by strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
  • Sound communication skills to effectively present findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Intermediate proficiency in data/visualisation tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint)
  • Analytical Thinking and Data-Driven Decision-Making.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork in Cross-Functional Improvement Projects.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification and Project Management Certification is a plus.
