About the role

As a SHES Specialist – Transport Safety, you’ll play a key role in strengthening Orica’s safety culture by embedding SHES procedures into our transport systems. You’ll bring specialist expertise to ensure alignment with Group standards while driving the development and implementation of effective Transport Safety Programs.

 

This role also leads assurance activities to monitor compliance and performance, supports continuous improvement, and contributes to the broader SHES systems and governance framework. What you will be doing

  • Drives the development and implementation of programs and initiatives to manage risk in the transport systems across the Asia business.
  • Contributes to the annual SHES strategy and planning process or to the annual regional improvement plan.
  • Support the development of regional standardised and simplified SHES management system procedures and tools related to transport safety.
  • Support the development and implementation of SHES assurance program to support visibility of compliance against the SHES Standards
  • Identifies and implements continuous improvement programs to address transport related SHES assurance
  • Provides SME support to SHES and Operational Leaders in investigating and identifying opportunities to prevent transport events.
  • Support the development and implementation of related Regional Procedures and work with the SHES and Operational Leaders on effective rollout.
  • Contributes to the design and development of Group SHES systems, procedures or programs in transport safety.
  • Ensures all country / sites has a system to update MSDS of each of the chemicals on site.

What you will bring

  • 3–6 years of SHES experience, with a strong focus on transport safety in mining, resources, or heavy industry.
  • Proven ability to build trust and strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Skilled in planning, influencing, and executing safety initiatives with measurable outcomes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present strategic recommendations to key stakeholders.
  • Proficient in business systems and tools such as SAP, SuccessFactors, Concur, and data visualization platforms.
  • Solid understanding of safety and health regulatory frameworks, risk management, and SHES systems.
  • Demonstrates integrity, self-awareness, openness to feedback, and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
