About the role
We are extremely excited to announce that we are inviting candidate applications for an Occupational Health Specialist to be based in our GBS Manila office in Pasig City, Philippines.
The Occupational Health Specialist will play a vital role in fostering a safe, healthy, and supportive work environment. In this role, you will address the challenges of work rostering, including shiftwork, fatigue, and isolation, while implementing proactive solutions to manage stress, industrial illness, and psychosocial hazards. This role will develop strategies to promote a healthy lifestyle and mental wellbeing, ensuring our hybrid workforce thrives in both physical and remote environments.
What you will be doing
The Occupational Health Specialist is going to be responsible for developing, owning, and implementing the GBS-specific SHES/Occupational Health Plan, focusing on the safety and health needs of the Shared Services environment.
As an Occupational Health Specialist, you will oversee building management capabilities to effectively respond to workplace risks and incidents. You will also assess and mitigate driving and transportation risks, design emergency response protocols, and enhance notification systems to protect our employees.
With a strong focus on employee safety and wellbeing, you will work with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with health and safety standards while fostering a culture of care and resilience.
This role will also collaborate with the Asia Regional SHES team to drive the implementation of Orica SHES standards and improvement initiatives. It works with the Lead – Risk & Compliance to monitor regional requirements and trends and engages with industry associations. The role also involves collaborating with global SHES on best practices.
What you will bring
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and 5-8 years of experience in Occupational Health/Safety Health Environment and Security and/or Operations relating to Shared Services settings or related field
- Ability to develop and implement safety plans and programs to respond to the specific needs of a shared service population working across a diverse range of functions and location.
- Completed or willing to complete the required training to meet Safety Officer 3 qualifications.
- Demonstrated understanding of safety & health regulatory frameworks, risk management and systems.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with a range of stakeholders. 
- Ability to plan, influence & execute. 
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to present strategic logic and recommended pathways, coupled with the ability to present to key stakeholders.
