About the role
We are seeking a highly skilled and independent Specialist - IT Portfolio Planning & Analytics to join our GBS team in our Manila site on a hybrid working setup.
The Specialist – IT Portfolio Planning & Analytics is responsible for leading and enhancing the planning and prioritization of the global IT portfolio, overseeing value tracking and performance monitoring in close collaboration with IT service lines and functional process owners, while providing clear portfolio visibility and actionable insights to support informed decision‑making and compliance across the IT organization.
What you will be doing
IT Portfolio Planning Process and Systems
- Drive planning and prioritisation of assigned portfolio(s) to support overall objective of value-based projects delivery in alignment to our broader IT strategy and business priorities
- Shape the development of the 0-12 month IT projects roadmap by aligning demand, priorities, and delivery plans
- Coordinate demand sequencing across initiatives to optimise delivery flow, align resource availability, and balance short-term priorities with strategic outcomes
- Track and surface cross-portfolio dependencies and risks to enable informed decision-making, timely escalation, and effective delivery planning
- Support definition and implementation of portfolio planning strategies to provide a detailed framework for creating and managing the IT projects portfolio for 0-12 months
- Own and be the subject matter expert of IT portfolio planning solutions to support, simplify, and ensure adoption of portfolio planning processes and frameworks
Portfolio Value Management
- Own the business case process for projects and ensure fit-for-purpose processes are in place to encompass a wide-range of projects
- Monitor value metrics to make informed decisions that maximise returns across Orica’s enterprise projects and programs
Portfolio Analytics
- Provide periodic and cyclical portfolio dashboard reporting and insights to the group CIO, IT Leadership team and other stakeholders
- Provide resource management insights across the portfolio to support capacity planning, prioritisation decisions, and proactive resolution of delivery constraints
- Develop IT projects portfolio KPI dashboards to provide visibility to the IT organisation and encourage shared KPI accountability
What you will bring
- 5+ years working experience in IT project/program management and/or data analytics
- Experience in dashboarding and data analysis. Advanced MS Excel capabilities. ServiceNow experience an advantage.
- Proven understanding of the project management lifecycle. PMO experience preferred.
- Proven structured problem solving, analytical and quantitative skills. Experience with Business Analysis, process design and defining business value out of process transformations / IT projects are advantages.
- Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or comparable industry experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to drive prioritisation discussions, coupled with the ability to present to senior key stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders across levels, functions, and geographies
