About the role
We are delighted to announce an opportunity for a dedicated SHES Advisor to join our team in Manila under a hybrid working setup. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting the health and wellbeing of our workforce across regions by providing expert guidance across Occupational Health, Medicals, Workers Compensation, Occupational Hygiene, and related health programs.
You will be a key driver in the execution of Orica’s SHES Health & Hygiene Plan, supporting early identification of health risks, enabling safe recovery pathways, and ensuring the consistent application of health standards across the organisation. This role requires resilience, integrity, sound judgement, and strong relationship-building skills to effectively support teams and influence positive outcomes.

The role location is based in our Metro Manila office on a hybrid setup.
What you will be doing
Medicals Review & Compliance
- Review medicals conducted by health service providers, ensuring alignment with internal guidelines and jurisdictional requirements.
- Develop and monitor progress against individual and site health management plans.
- Provide professional advice on occupational health, medical compliance, and employee fitness for work.
Health Situations & Standards Management
- Support early identification, planning, and response to health-related situations, including escalations and changes to standards.
- Conduct regional health analysis, report on trends, and provide insights to leadership.
- Perform deep-dive assessments into occupational health and medical-related topics as required.
Training, Documentation & Administration
- Develop, participate in, and deliver health-related training and coaching activities.
- Ensure accurate data entry and health documentation management in systems such as My Occ Health Record and Enablon.
- Manage scheduling, booking, and coordination of health appointments and medical assessments.
- Maintain integrity, confidentiality, and governance of sensitive health data.
Support Functions
- Assist Payroll and Injury Management Specialists with Workers Compensation payroll administration.
- Collate information for Return to Work and Health Management Programs.
- Coordinate fitness-for-work assessments and independent medical reviews.
- Support documentation and data requirements related to Return to Work processes.
Occupational Hygiene & Data Reporting
- Manage Occupational Hygiene exposure data in relevant systems and support reporting requirements.
- Contribute to the development of site-specific health hazard identification documentation and risk assessments.
- Review, consolidate, and publish Health & Hygiene management system documentation in line with jurisdictional and Orica standards.
- Support initiatives that underpin health and hygiene program deliverables.
Recovery & Return to Work Support
- Support and coordinate recovery and return to work plans for both work-related and non-work-related injuries or illnesses.
- Manage and coordinate administrative requirements for Workers Compensation and other return-to-work processes.
- Provide ongoing case support for workers engaged in recovery or return-to-work programs.
What you will bring
- Postgraduate qualification in a health-related field
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar occupational or health services environment
- Professional background in Physiotherapy, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Paramedical Science, Exercise Physiology, or similar
- Demonstrated experience in Occupational Health & Hygiene data management
- Strong capability in health documentation governance and management
- Ability to build trust, communicate clearly, and influence decisions across varied stakeholders
- Resilience, adaptability, and a strong sense of professional integrity
- Training or willingness to be trained in Australian data privacy standards, given the nature of sensitive health information
- High level of English communication skills - clear, confident written and verbal communication is essential for supporting global stakeholders
