About the role
The Portfolio Lead will play a key role in driving capital excellence by managing the capital portfolio from a reporting and insights perspective. This role focuses on portfolio governance, data analysis, and the development of dashboards and reports to support strategic decision-making. We’re looking for someone with a strong background in portfolio management or project management who can turn data into meaningful insights and ensure visibility and performance tracking capital initiatives.
What you will be doing
- Custodian of the Orica PMO capital portfolio, including application and use of group’s Project and Portfolio Management (PPM) tool in SAP for managing and reporting capital expenditure.
- Lead the annual and mid-term (3–5 year) capital planning and budgeting processes, while managing internal reporting on capital expenditures and tracking PMO portfolio and project performance using Power BI.
- Provide advice and administrative support for project delivery through effective use of systems, tools, and templates, while contributing to the development of governance and standards for the Capital and Investment Management team.
- Maintaining training and guidance materials in relation to the capital project processes.
- Serve as the administrative point of contact for capital and project systems, tools and template support across the global portfolio.
What you will bring
- Strong proficiency in conversational English, both written and verbal, enabling effective communication across diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Finance, or a related discipline, providing a solid foundation in technical and financial principles.
- 8+ years of experience in capital projects, financial management, and business improvement initiatives, ideally within mining, manufacturing, or engineering environments. While this background is preferred, it is not strictly required.
- Hands-on experience with SAP for enterprise resource planning and Microsoft Power BI for data visualization and reporting.
- Demonstrates a proactive mindset and is highly self-motivated, capable of driving initiatives independently and contributing to continuous improvement.
