About the role
We are seeking an Officer - Accounting to support our regional business partnering activities by delivering accurate financial reporting, analysis, budgeting support, and commercial insights.
Working closely with Finance Business Partners, operational leaders, and the Finance Analytics & Insights Hub, you will provide meaningful financial information that assists decision-making and contributes to business performance.
This role offers exposure to manufacturing, commercial operations, financial planning, and business partnering within a global organisation.
The role aligns closely with Orica's finance business partnering and reporting activities, supporting budgets, forecasts, cost analysis, and operational decision-making.
What you will be doing
- Work with Discrete Manufacturing teams, Commercial Finance Business Partners, and the broader Finance organization to provide timely and accurate financial support for operations in scope.
- Support monthly close activities and ensure compliance with reporting timelines
- Prepare accurate financial and performance reports for regional stakeholders
- Assist Finance Business Partners with operational and commercial analysis
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and planning processes
- Monitor and analyse fixed costs, cost drivers, and business performance trends
- Provide financial insights and guidance to operational leaders
- Identify performance variances and assist with corrective action recommendations
- Support compliance with Orica financial standards, policies, and reporting requirements
- Deliver ad hoc reporting and financial analysis as required
- Collaborate with the Finance Analytics Hub and wider Finance team to continuously improve reporting and insights
What you will bring

Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline

3 to 5 years' experience in accounting, finance, or commercial analysis roles

Strong financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis skills

Ability to interpret financial data and communicate insights to stakeholders

Experience working with ERP systems, with SAP experience highly regarded

Advanced Excel skills and strong attention to detail

Experience in mining, manufacturing, or industrial environments will be advantageous

Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines
