About the role
We are currently seeking an Accounts Payable Officer to join our growing Finance team in Manila. In this role, you'll play a key part in delivering accurate, efficient, and compliant Accounts Payable services for Orica's Australian operations while partnering with stakeholders across our global business.
What you will be doing
As an Accounts Payable Officer, you will be responsible for the end-to-end processing of supplier invoices, payments, and related accounting transactions while ensuring compliance with company policies and financial controls.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Processing high volumes of supplier invoices in Microsoft Dynamics AX2009 and D365
- Performing invoice matching and validation, including purchase orders, receipts, tax treatment, and coding accuracy
- Managing vendor records and responding to supplier inquiries professionally and promptly
- Supporting weekly and ad hoc payment runs while ensuring compliance with approval requirements
- Performing reconciliations, resolving discrepancies, and supporting month-end close activities
- Assisting with intercompany service invoice reconciliations and payment reporting requirements
- Maintaining data accuracy and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across AP processes
- Collaborating with finance, procurement, and operational stakeholders across Australia and other global locations
- Supporting internal and external audit requirements and ensuring adherence to financial controls
- Providing support for additional finance activities such as bank guarantees, payroll journals, leave provisions, and payroll tax management
What you will bring
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- Experience in Accounts Payable, transactional finance, or shared services environments
- Strong understanding of Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes and accounting principles
- Experience performing reconciliations, invoice processing, and month-end activities
- Exposure to Microsoft Dynamics AX2009 and/or D365 systems is highly regarded
- Experience working in multinational organizations or shared service centres
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage high transaction volumes
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- A proactive and continuous improvement mindset
- English and Spanish language proficiency is highly advantageous
