About the role
We're excited to announce the opening for the Officer – Accounts Payable position. As an integral part of our team, you'll serve as the primary point of contact and subject matter expert for a specific team/process/substream within designated processes or countries. Your responsibilities will include conducting Staff Quality Reviews and providing initial support to resolve issues.
What you will be doing
People Leadership
- Assist the Supervisor in Process/Peer Coaching, identifying/implementing process training within the Workstreams.
- Support implementation of GBS strategies.
Process Leadership
- Support supervisor with managing specific process, ensuring alignment, reporting, and communication including workload allocation.
- Drive, manage, and support process improvement projects.
- Ensure compliance to internal control standards.
- Support incoming transitions by ensuring successful integration of processes.
Operations
- Ensure that all KPIs are met.
- Provide accurate internal and external operational performance reporting.
- Perform Payment Review and 1st level of Approval.
- Monitor and Track all Manual & Advance Payments and Vendor Debit Items.
- Regularly Review Ageing GRIR Items, Bank Open Items and Ageing Invoices in the system.
- Investigate and process payment reversals and stop payment requests.
- Reconcile selected creditors' accounts.
- Provide backup for other positions within the Accounts Payable department.
- Ensure stakeholder needs against agreed SLAs are met.
Ad Hoc Duties
- Act as backup for Supervisor for follow-up meetings and reporting with GBS and Orica Management.
- Act as a peer backup for meetings, reporting, and day-to-day activities.
What you will bring
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Finance/Accounting department of a large corporate organization, with at least 1 year of coaching/teaching experience.
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles, practices, and internal policy.
- Proficient with ERP and other business/accounting tools.
- Effective stakeholder management and communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Flexible availability to work within specified time zone.
