About the role
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead – Learning Operations to join our global team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the operational delivery of learning programs that empower our workforce and align with Orica’s strategic priorities. You will play a key role in enabling high-impact learning experiences that support our culture of continuous improvement, safety excellence, and innovation.
As the Lead, you will ensure the seamless execution of learning initiatives across regions, collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize systems, processes, and learner engagement. Your leadership will be instrumental in scaling learning operations that are agile, data-driven, and future-focused.
What you will be doing
As the Lead – Learning Operations, you will play a critical role in shaping the learning experience across Orica’s global workforce. Your responsibilities will include:
- Champion Learning Excellence: Provide expert guidance and coaching on best practices for leveraging Orica’s learning frameworks and system standards to drive impactful outcomes.
- Ensure Quality & Compliance: Lead the use of self-audit tools to uphold compliance with Orica’s learning quality assurance frameworks, ensuring consistency and excellence across all programs.
- Enable Strategic Learning Delivery: Support tactical learning needs by conducting training needs analyses, developing annual learning plans, and maintaining accurate learning records and content.
- Operational Leadership: Oversee the execution of global learning initiatives—including compliance training, technical upskilling, and leadership development—ensuring alignment with Orica’s strategic goals.
- LMS Management: Manage Orica’s Learning Management System (LMS), ensuring data integrity, seamless user experience, and effective integration with broader HR systems.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal stakeholders such as Compliance, Digital, and HR to ensure learning programs meet both business and regulatory requirements.
- Data-Driven Insights: Monitor and report on learning effectiveness using key performance indicators and analytics to inform continuous improvement.
- Drive Innovation: Lead efforts to enhance learning operations through automation, standardisation, and process innovation.
- Digital Enablement: Support the deployment and adoption of digital learning technologies and platforms across regions.
- Responsive Support: Lead the resolution of ad-hoc learning queries, providing timely and effective support to ensure system usage and adherence to standards.
What you will bring
- 5–7 years of experience in Learning & Development or related HR functions, including 2 years in a leadership role.
- Hands-on expertise with LMS platforms like SuccessFactors or Cornerstone, and familiarity with data tools such as Power BI.
- A track record of leading enterprise-wide learning initiatives and collaborating across teams.
- Experience in designing feedback loops and measuring post-training impact.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and drive results.
