About the role

 

The Global Supply Chain Lead, GBS is a dynamic role that manages a team of Specialists and Coordinators across Planning, Sourcing, Logistics & Distribution, and Governance & Improvement. This position is crucial in ensuring seamless communication between the Global Supply GBS team and the broader Global Supply team. Key responsibilities include analyzing functional capabilities, identifying optimization opportunities, and overseeing the execution of strategic plans. Additionally, the role supports Global Supply Leadership in aligning initiatives with business requirements and group mandates. This role is essential for driving efficiency and effectiveness within the organization.

What you will be doing

 

  • Lead a team of Supply Chain Specialists and Coordinators across areas such as onboarding, coaching and performance management.
  • Maintain a strong focus on safety, mentor to encourage best practice and ensuring full compliance.
  • Deliver Global Supply GBS team’s scope against key metrics and drivers.
  • Support delivery of Supply Chain strategy within Global Supply GBS.
  • Work with Global Supply teams and internal stakeholders in the identification and resolution of potential issues and escalate where necessary. 
  • Identify improvement initiatives. 
  • Develop action plans in collaboration with the Global Supply team, for implementation when agreed/approved.

What you will bring

 

  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience within Manufacturing, Mining, Oil & Gas, Industrial, or other relevant organisations.
  • A degree is required, ideally in Planning, Sourcing, Logistics Management, or a related supply chain discipline.
  • People leadership experience is a key priority for this role, along with the ability to work independently within remote team structures.
  • Relevant experience in complex, multinational matrix environments and exposure to Logistics and broader Supply Chain Governance.
  • Extensive experience in planning and stakeholder relationship management.
  • Experience with SAP supply chain transactions for analysis and reporting, along with strong proficiency in the MS Office suite, especially Excel for analytical and modeling purposes, is highly valued.
  • Proficiency in conversational English language both written and verbal.
  • Strong analytical skills, business acumen, and experience in strategy development and implementation. 
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, along with well-developed planning and organizational skills, are essential.
