About the role

The Lead - Financial Controlling leads the delivery of the financial accounting for the operating entities (Regional role) and investment entities (Group role) entities across Orica, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and Orica’s financial controls and standards and ensuring statutory compliance at a county (Regional role) or group (Group role) level

What you will be doing

Management, Financial Reporting & Control:

  • Collaborate with Orica Global Business Services, addressing issues and finding solutions
  • Prepare and consolidate business unit financial statements accurately and on time
  • Manage General Ledger, ensure proper recording of transactions, and conduct asset impairment testing
  • Participate in internal and external audits, embedding internal controls in processes
  • Oversee bi-annual assurance process, including Balance Sheet review
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and finance projects

 

Group Level Statutory Participation:

  • Complete quarterly/annual filings and shareholder reports promptly and accurately
  • Prepare legal entity statutory accounts and Investor Relations reporting
  • Manage information for Orica Tax Group for tax compliance

 

Administration and Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with Orica standards, Segregation of Duties, and financial policies
  • Handle external auditing requirements

 

Employee Development and Motivation:

  • Potentially manage a small team
  • Coach and develop team leaders and members
  • Communicate with senior stakeholders and encourage individual development ownership Mentor and cultivate a high-performing team while encouraging individual ownership of development plans.

What you will bring

  • Tertiary qualification in Accounting or Business
  • Professional designation CA, CMA, or CPA
  • Experience in a similar role within a large, global business
  • People leadership experience
  • 8+ years post-graduate experience in accounting or finance
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting standards
  • Essential Excel proficiency
  • SAP S4 Hana experience is a plus
