About the role
The Engineer - Blasting will provide crucial engineering support in managing the storage, handling, and use of explosives on-site. This role involves monitoring and auditing compliance with explosives regulations in alignment with company policy.
The successful candidate will be based at our Cebu site or Surigao site.
What you will be doing

Develop and implement personal SHEC plans in alignment with the regional SHEC Plan and Orica’s SHE policy, while actively supporting SHEC initiatives with customers.

Deliver comprehensive customer product stewardship support and provide application training for bulk, PE, IS, and EBS products to ensure proper usage and compliance.

Implement value-adding initiatives to achieve financial targets for the region and manage product stewardship issues efficiently to maintain high standards.

Cultivate strong relationships with new and existing customers, contribute to high-end technology offerings, and drive EBS customer initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction and engagement.

Manage the introduction of new IS, Bulk, and PE products, ensuring seamless integration and delivery of contractual Tech Service commitments.

Execute and improve methodologies for continuously enhancing blasting performance for customers, while maintaining fixed costs and budgetary constraints.

Provide market intelligence on customers and competitors, capture the value delivered through case studies, promotional articles, and technical papers, and establish enduring customer relationships that maximize results for both the customer and Orica.
What you will bring
-
Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, with comprehensive knowledge in mining operations.

Strong SHE initiatives experience, including site training participation and proactive site safety promotion.

Proven competency in handling minor incidents, such as initiation system cut-off and environmental exceedances.

Technical expertise in drill and blast operations, project management, and demonstrated success through customer case studies.

Excellent communication, report writing, and customer relationship skills, with additional experience in sales and marketing.
